A downloadable game for Windows
ProtoBound is an obstacle-avoidance game in which you navigate your character through various obstacles. It's inspired by bound-type custom maps for StarCraft.
You can use a mouse, keyboard, or controller to dodge the tricks and traps over 100 obstacles across 9 levels + some extra hard bonus levels. Get faster time to earn better medals, and beat the level in fewer deaths to get a higher mastery score. Plus, race against time with the tick tock modifier.
WASD/Left Stick/Left Mouse - Movement
1/2/LB/RB - Change Camera Angle
F/Bottom Controller Button/Left Mouse - Skip/Progress Dialogue
Move Mouse while Holding Right Click - Rotate (When not in Overhead View)
And that's all you need! Stopping unit movement and more are visible and rebindable in the controls menu.
I've been working on this on and off (mostly off) for eight years, and this year I finally got the motivation to push past (or cut) the tricky parts so that I could get this out there. The end result is a polished game that will probably take you around one to two hours to complete, depending on your skill at the game.
If you're curious about what it looked like back in 2014, there are two very early versions you can look at if you want to toss me some money.
This has custom level support, but it requires that you hand edit an XML file. If you're interested in making levels by hand, let me know and I'll write up something explaining the format.
